Jonmichael

Today I have great news! I have finished most of my major assignments for this semester, so this means more time for blog entries!!!!! Whooooooooo! I finished my 13 page research paper and Guided Reading Lesson Plan for my Literacy class this morning, and I just feel like the world has been lifted off my shoulders(: I therefore went to my Chemistry class happily.

I have class with my friend, Jonmichael, and he is probably one of the best dressed people you'll ever meet to be honest. He just knows fashion. I'll never forget how we met my freshmen year of college. I was scrolling through http://lookbook.nu/  for style inspiration and got the nerve to suggest to Jonmichael, who was sitting right next to me, to make an account to post his looks. We became friends right of the bat, and I am so glad to have met him! He's the type of guy who doesn't just appreciate the clothes, but he appreciates the designers as well. I've learned a lot from him and I admire his love for fashion and style!

Today Jonmichael is sporting his Cheap Monday denim shirt, Gap boyfriend jeans, Warby Parker glasses, Britxon cap, and Louboutin Roller Boys. I've always appreciated the denim on denim look, and he definitely made this outfit his own by throwing on those show stopping Louboutins. Those shoes are killer. If spikes aren't your thing, opt for structured shoes in a bold or bright color!

That concludes today's post! Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! Hope to see you around campus soon(:

Much Love,
Victoria

Bishop Arts District

So this past Saturday, I grabbed breakfast with my lovely friends Kelsey and Monica at Odd Fellows. If you haven't been to The Bishop Arts District in Dallas, you HAVE TO HAVE TO GO. It is so adorable and there are so many delicious places to eat! I have yet to try everything! Odd Fellows has great breakfast and the atmosphere is just wonderful. I highly recommend.

This post features Kelsey's beautiful outfit! I love the soft and neutral tones that compliment her skin, and I'm a sucker for pleats on anything! I snapped a few photos as we walked around the district, and what made the morning even more awesome was the Urban Street Bazaar! It featured local, handmade, and vintage goods, and I was definitely impressed! There was handmade jewelry, soaps, antique items, and so much more. I was the most impressed with Dowdy Studio. It was love at first sight when I saw a little wagon decorated with bunting. I was sold right then, but I fell even more head over heels when I stepped into the wagon. Dowdy had everything from jewelry, prints, clothing, bags, and even pillows. Their designs are very whimsical and fun! I walked out of the wagon with 3 pieces that I really love. I bought the red sketchy owl and black guitar hand shirt for my boyfriend, and a foxy sweater for myself. I love the idea of supporting local merchants and artisans in the area!!

It was a very wonderful day! I apologize for the lack of posts. Midterms week was a total drag, and this upcoming week I have major assignments due as well. I will make a new post as soon as I can!

With love,
Victoria

4-3-2-1

Hey guys! So yesterday was extremely busy and I didn't have time to post these looks, but here they are now!

Finishing my first class of the day, I was heading towards the library when my eyes notice a gleam of red. I do a double take, and I spot a gentleman sporting a red bow tie and if you don't know already, I am a sucker for bow ties. I stopped him and asked if I could take some photos, and he agreed! I found out his name is Timmy. He is a freshmen at UTA, and he likes to shop online because he can be more specific when it comes to looking for sizes that fit him exactly. He believes that dressing up for school is important because you have to make a lasting first impression. I couldn't agree more! I was definitely impressed with his outfit, and even more impressed when he told me he is a Biomedical Engineering major!

The second look is worn by Sarah. She's my friend, and I think she's adorable! And check out her beautiful hair guys. Her corset-esque top is from Forever 21 and I absolutely adore the layers and color of this maxi skirt.

For the third look of the day, one of my friends, Thy, texted me and gave me the heads up to snap a photo of Michael. He is never one for photos, but was willing to let me snap some shots of his outfit and I am so happy that he did! My favorite parts of his ensemble are his glasses and Chococat watch.

Last, but certainly not least, is Kevin! I really like the colors in his look. They're really fitting for fall, and who doesn't love elbow pads on a nice cardigan? You can never go wrong with them!

So those were the looks from yesterday, and those should tie you over until Monday! This weekend I plan on editing some photos from my impromtu shoot I mentioned in my last post. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend!!

Little Miss Lauren

Today (technically yesterday) was so wonderful! I drove to Fort Worth to finally hang out with my friend Lauren. We planned an evening of making DIY flower crowns, but it turned out to be so much more!

I showed up to her humble little house near TCU, and let me tell you, it is abdsolutely adorable! I saw her outfit when she opened the door to let me inside, and I immediately knew she had to be on my blog. She was wearing her very own DIY feather crown and this awesome poncho she bought from a boutique in El Paso. I am so in love with her organic style!

After snapping some photos of her in her backyard, we went to Hobby Lobby along with her housemate, Bethany, who I must say, is cute as a button! We grabbed supplies and headed back to make flower crowns. The best part was when we decided at the last minute to use the crowns in a photo shoot.

I had Lauren, Bethany, and their third roomie, Madison, who is absolutely gorgeous as well, wear white dresses, and we drove to the Botanical Gardens for our impromptu shoot. The sun was going down fast, but I think I snagged a few great shots. I'm so excited to edit the photos! We ended the evening with dinner at Zoe's Kitchen, which is delicious by the way! (try the Spinach wraps with chicken and tomato bisque soup if you're ever in the area)

I hope tomorrow is even better! It's Friday after all. I finish class at 8:50am, so my mission is to scour UTA and find a gentleman to feature on the blog tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

Stampede Style Stakeout Take One

This morning, after grabbing a caffe misto at Starbucks, I walked outside of the library and was very pleased to see a very well dressed gentlemen studying on a bench. Excited by the fact that he could indeed be my very first post, I approached him, but to my dismay, he didn't seem very enthusiastic about getting his picture taken. Although he seemed flattered, he wasn't going to stop studying for his test for me to snap a few photos. I told him I understood, thanked him for his time, and wished him good luck on his test.

After my very first rejection, I was terrified of the thought of being rejected again, so it took me quite a while before I saw Ariana. I actually can't even take credit for spotting her first. At the time she was walking by, I was being consoled by my friend, James, who was trying his best to reassure me that there will be other people to take photos of.  Luckily, my other friend, Bryan, set eyes on her for me and gave me the extra push to approach her.

I was so happy that he gave me that push because Ariana is so sweet! I love her lipstick and high bun and everything about her outfit. After chatting with her for a bit, I found out that she likes to switch up her style and loves to channel not only girly chic, but the punk rock look as well. Working at Forever 21, her paycheck mainly goes back into their clothes, and I am definitely inspired.

As I was taking photos of Ariana, I also had the pleasant surprise of running into my younger brother, Eric! He's a freshmen at UTA this year, and he was definitely rocking the collegiate look. I love his maroon A&F cardigan and his brand new lace up Steve Madden kicks tied the whole look together.

The last photo you see is a picture of my very own outfit - a Nasty Gal polkadot peekaboo shoulder top and an creme pleated maxi skirt. The photo was taken by the lovely Kim Inthirath and you can take a peak at her photos at her website http://kiminthirath.22slides.com/

I hope you enjoyed my very first post! Please comment and leave suggestions if you have any. I would love to hear from you!

Incoming Stampede!

The current mission of this blog is to seek out the stylish students of the University of Texas at Arlington. In the future, the ultimate goal of Stampede Style is to encounter, capture, and blog about not only UTA students, but also the fashion conscious ladies and gents who roam the streets of the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex.
"The best fashion show is definitely on the street. Always has been and always will be." - Bill Cunningham
